Important: Do not get CutWormLE if you are currently using CutWorm and you wish to continue using CutWorm. The two programs do not work together properly.

CutWormLE is a branch-off of my great, but horribly buggy, CutWorm program. It retains all the SuperBit / SeekerBit functions that CutWorm had and revises these a bit further. Like CutWorm, it allows you to create color maps in the form of SuperBits. The SuperBit format allows you to create maps that:

1. use an image with upto 113 colors.
2. contain a customized collision mask.
3. contain a customized visual destroyed land mask.
4. have pre-defined starting object placements.
5. use a customized water palette.
6. use a customized gradient palette.
7. have a pre-defined border style, theme set, and water height settings.

Best of all, the SuperBits you create with CutWormLE can be played in LAN and WormNet2 games by using what I have named the SeekerBit. You can create a corresponding SeekerBit for a SuperBit after you have uploaded the SuperBit somewheres on the internet. SeekerBits contain URL locations to their SuperBits so that when a player loads a SeekerBit in Worms World Party, it causes CutWormLE to download its SuperBit and loads this into your game. To make life simpler for you, I have created a SeekerBit map section on this site where you can get plenty of SeekerBits. You can visit this section here.

Download:
CutWormLE.zip (5.44 MB)
CutWormLE.rar (4.90 MB)
CutWormLE.7z (4.64 MB)

Note: Choose between .zip, .rar, and .7z data archives. Get CutWormLE.zip if you are not sure which one you should get. Do not download all three for they contain identical contents.

Installation: It's easy. Extract the CutWormLE archive anywheres on your computer to generate 2 files. One of these is a large data file and the other is cwLE_Installer.exe. Run the installer and ensure the path to your Worms World Party game (wwp.exe) is correct. Click install and you are finished.

After installing, everytime you run your Worms World Party game it will automatically cause CutWormLE to run in the background. It needs to run in the background so that SeekerBit maps will work. I made it this way so that people will always have CutWormLE running when they play worms, so that they won't have to remember to turn it on, and so that they can launch WWP faster by having the intro skipped.

Useage: Place the SeekerBits you get into your \User\SavedLevels folder. (A trick to knowing what type of maps are SeekerBits is that all SeekerBit maps begin with a "-") You load SeekerBits like you would any other map; from wwp's terrain editor/loader. As soon as you exit wwp's terrain window, the SeekerBit's counter-part SuperBit map will begin to download. SuperBit maps generally range from being 50 KB to 500 KB in size, so you may need to give a fair bit of time for the map to finish downloading. (The average size is 100 KB) A drum beat tune should play through your speakers to signal when the map is fully loaded. However, this drum beat doesn't seem to play on all computers.

You will only be able to play these color maps with other people also using CutWormLE or CutWorm. The game will hang for a very long time at the start if there are any players that do not have CutWorm(LE), before eventually disconnecting them. It is recommended that you politely boot these ones before starting. Ensure everyone has their color maps loaded before starting. (That includes you Mr. Host.)
